Can You Escape?, the award winning live and interactive room escape game, has announced today that it will be opening a new venue in the heart of the historic City of York following planning approval from York City Council.
Can You Escape offers teams the chance to immerse themselves for an hour into a themed mission. During the hour, teams need to use all of their skills to solve a series of puzzles, cryptic clues and physical challenges in order to see if they can beat the clock and make it onto the infamous leader board!
The company first opened their doors in Edinburgh in October 2014. They were crowned Scotland’s Best Family Day Out in 2015 and have had various celebrity endorsements such as the comedian Ed Byrne who commented that it was the “best thing he did” on his trip to the city during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Escape games have grown in popularity over the last few years, with over 100 popping up all across the UK. Similar to the popular television show Crystal Maze they are a great team building activity, fun family day out or alternative get together with friends.
Commenting on the expansion, Alastair Watson, Director of Can You Escape, said: “It’s a really exciting opportunity for us, we can’t wait to open our doors to the public in May! We’ve seen the business grow from strength to strength in Edinburgh and we’re excited to get started in York!”
