BCO Rising Star Award Win for Claremont’s Syson

Claremont's Associate Director of Design Sarah Syson with her BCO NextGen Rising Star Award for the North

Warrington-based Claremont’s Associate Director of Design Sarah Syson has won the coveted Rising Star Award for the North at the national British Council of Offices (BCO) Next Gen Awards.

The BCO NextGen Awards celebrate the achievements and successes of young professionals under 35 in the commercial workplace sector.

The Rising Star Award recognises Sarah’s impressive achievements since she joined nationwide interior design and fit-out business Claremont in 2015, and in particular during the pandemic.

Sarah was promoted to Design Manager in 2017 and more recently to the Associate Director of Design, in recognition of her ability to combine impactful ideas and creativity with a growing understanding of the commercial imperatives and tight deadlines of projects. Her clients include global Insurance giant MMC, pension specialists USS, Pixel Toys, debt charity Stepchange and several housing associations.

Tim Frankland, Managing Director of Claremont said: “This award is tremendously well deserved, and a reflection of the talent and skill Sarah brings to her projects on a daily basis. Sarah is a great role model, has created a highly effective design team and coordinates the demanding requirements of the business while carrying a significant project workload herself. We already knew she was a rising star in the business – but it’s wonderful to see the industry recognise that too.”

Sarah Syson, Associate Director of Design at Claremont said: “I was completely blown away by the win, particularly when there was such a huge amount of talent in the category. I really am delighted.”

Ann Clarke, Deputy Managing Director at Claremont added: “There is no doubt that Sarah’s talent and commitment have helped us deliver some of most complex and demanding projects to date – many of which were at the height of the pandemic.”

Sarah saw off competition from 18 other young professionals to win the award, which was presented at a ceremony at Brewer’s Yard in London on 10th November 2021.
