Johnny Caddick, Director of Caddick Group, one of the largest and most successful property companies in the UK, will join the Billion Pound Panel on Tuesday 16 May during the Buy Yorkshire Conference.

Also founder of Moda Living, the first regional high amenity build to rent platform in the country with a development value of more than £2bn, Johnny will take to the stage for the first time along with Alan Lewis CBE, Chairman of the Hartley Investment Trust and Group; Gordon Black, Chairman of Black Family Investments; Jonathan Allan, Sales Director for Channel 4; Ajaz Ahmed, Chief Provocateur at Cut the Cr*p and Margaret Casely-Hayford, Chair at Action Aid.

The panel will be chaired by Jonathan Straight, Founder at Planet Straight.

Responsible for some of the most high profile developments in Yorkshire, including the 1m sq. ft. Trinity Leeds shopping centre, Johnny will use his experiences to add to the debate and also provide insight into the property sector as he explains why he is championing the emergence of build to rent.

In the process of delivering over 6,000 apartments that are in high profile city centre locations, along with a significant amount of commercial space, Johnny firmly believes that build to rent – also known as PRS – will reinvent how people choose to live and invest in property.

Despite its UK wide presence, the Caddick Group was launched in 1979 in Yorkshire and the values of the company are still very much the same today.

Johnny comments: “Caddick’s origins are firmly set in Yorkshire. We sell the Yorkshire ethos to partners and investors around the world. We’re keen to support and share our experiences with other local businesses. Buy Yorkshire offers the opportunity to celebrate business success throughout the region, as well as to discuss topical issues currently impacting on growth in our local area and nationally.

“I’m looking forward to the event and to taking to the Buy Yorkshire stage for the first time. There’s no doubt it’s going to be an experience and I’m sure the subjects that we will be discussing and those that matter most to the business community will be of interest to a wide audience.

“Yorkshire is a close community so reputation is everything. It’s the hardest to build and the easiest to lose. We always make an effort to work with Yorkshire partners for this very reason and I look forward to reinforcing this during the event too.”
