Care Home Manager appointed by New Care

Sharon Burton

Sharon Burton, who lives in Elland, West Yorkshire, has been appointed by New Care as registered home manager of Adel Manor, located on Otley Road.

The £15million 74 bed care facility will open in April, offering exceptional person-centred residential, nursing and dementia care services.

Sharon, who has enjoyed a varied and extremely successful career in the health sector, is well qualified to lead the 80+ strong team at Adel Manor.

A qualified nurse with an advanced nurse practitioner degree, diploma in management studies and MBA, Sharon has worked in the NHS as well as private hospitals, hospices and social care. For 20 years she has held director positions in Nursing, Governance, Business Development and Home Commissioning, whilst more recently, she managed two complex care nursing homes in West Yorkshire.

In her new role, Sharon will be responsible for the efficient day-to-day management of Adel Manor, monitoring performance and ensuring all staff deliver high quality care to residents.

Her key objective is to make Adel Manor THE care home of choice for people to live in and work at. Sharon is committed to providing the very best care for her residents and support her team as they develop their careers, making everyday a good day within the home.

She says: “I was attracted to New Care and its fantastic care facilities, in particular the care delivery and environment. There was an instant family feeling and a real focus on the wellbeing of people, which is incredibly refreshing to see as this is often lost within many organisations.

“I am fiercely passionate about the highest standards of care for those lives we are fortunate enough to be part of and believe New Care shares that very same vision.

“I have watched Adel Manor progress from a building site to a stunning care home. Relationships have been formed and to know Adel Manor will, when open, become a home full of care and laughter is a privilege. It’s an extremely rewarding role to open a home from the start and see it grow; it gives a huge sense of achievement, and I am looking forward to opening the doors of Adel Manor and welcoming our first residents next month.”

Chris McGoff, CEO at New Care, adds: “I am delighted to welcome Sharon to New Care and am thrilled she is at the helm of our first care facility in Yorkshire. Sharon’s experience and knowledge is exceptional, and I am fully confident that she, together with the team, will enrich the lives of all residents at Adel Manor.”

Away from work Sharon has a passion for the 1950s and attends weekend events with her husband. With two grown up sons and a six month old grandson, she loves spending time with her family and Frenchie puppy.

Adel Manor, which opens mid-April, is an expertly designed, purpose-built 74 bedroom care home. It features fully furnished bedrooms, each with a private en suite wet room, plus a selection of communal lounges and dining rooms. It also has a nail bar, hairdresser, landscaped gardens and outdoor terraces to the first floor.

The care home provides outstanding residential and dementia care services.

Part of the McGoff Group, New Care is one of the UK’s leading care home providers. Its portfolio of purpose-built ‘new generation’ care centres is fast gaining an enviable reputation for outstanding care that is second to none.
