Carringtons Catering has been shortlisted in the prestigious Foodservice Cateys Awards.
The leading North West caterer has been nominated for ‘Events Caterer of the Year’ in the national awards and is just one of only four companies to make the shortlist within its category. The winners are set to be announced at a glittering ceremony held at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge on October 11.
The husband and wife duo behind Carringtons Catering, Helen and Darren Wynn, have championed the North West as an up and coming location for corporate events in their sixteen years as company directors at the firm and believe that their nomination is a victory for the region, which has become a sought after destination in recent years.
According to CVent, who recently published its annual list of the world’s top meeting destinations, Liverpool was one of a few UK cities making marked strides in the overall rankings alongside Leeds and Reading.
Helen believes that the city is now competing on a global stage, with an offer that rivals other major cities across Europe. Latest figures show that Liverpool City Region’s visitor economy is now worth over £4.9billion and has welcomed over 67million visitors to the region, in turn supporting thousands of jobs within the hospitality industry.
Helen said: “With over 20 years of experience within the industry, I have seen first-hand how dramatically the tourism landscape has changed in the last decade and more rapidly within the last few years attracting established, globally acclaimed hospitality firms into the city. Despite being an independent, local business, Carringtons Catering remains at the forefront of the sector with a 60-strong team and sustainable growth that has seen the company double in size since we took over as directors in 2003.
“This year, Liverpool has continued to host several high-profile events, attracting visitors from all over the world and Carringtons Catering has played an active role in supporting several of these occasions, combining innovation when it comes to culinary creations with our dedication to world class service.
