The senior management team at chemicals specialist Christeyns met last week to discuss strategies to ensure the company is “Fit for 2030”.

Managers from all of the Christeyns UK businesses met at the Radisson Blu East Midlands for a day of in-depth discussion on the current status of the business and future goals. Representatives from Adcrete, Belfast, Christeyns Food Hygiene, Warrington, Clover Chemicals, Peak District, Oscrete, Bradford and Cole & Wilson, Huddersfield, as well as the commercial laundry team and key personnel from Head Office, were all in attendance.

Led by Managing Director Nick Garthwaite, the conference looked at the group’s current position across all its market sectors, with a focus on synergy and social, technical and environmental issues that will influence the business over the coming decade.

Inspirational speaker, Major Dick Gale RE, opened the day with his ‘View from the top’ talk, covering a 2017 mission to take the first serving Gurkhas up to Everest summit. Guests also heard from Helen Wood, recently appointed Managing Director for Workwear at Johnson Service Group, who gave an insight into the current view from a commercial laundry customer perspective.

“It was a very packed day but one which highlighted our strengths and recent achievements as well as giving clarity to future goals,” commented Nick Garthwaite. “A new decade is just around the corner and our energies must now be focused on the next ten years and the opportunities and challenges ahead.”
