Come together for Beatlemania on the River Mersey

New Beatles themed cruise is being launched by Mersey Ferries this year, to mark the 10th anniversary of Liverpool as Capital of Culture and offer a chance to return to the swinging sixties.

Music lovers and Beatles fans alike are invited to enjoy an evening on the Beatles Tribute Cruise, with a live performance by one of the North West’s most loved cover bands – Paperback Writers

Beatlemania is set to sweep across Liverpool again this year after Mersey Ferries announced it would run a new series of Beatles-themed cruises.

Launched to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of Liverpool’s Capital of Culture status and act as a reminder that the famous four appeared on the Mersey Ferries back in the 60’s,, the cruises are set to offer music lovers a fun-filled evening cruise, where passengers will experience a fantastic live performance by one of the country’s best Beatles cover acts – local band Paperback Writers.

The two and a half hour cruise along the River Mersey will also include a licensed bar along with hot and cold food available to purchase for those on-board.

Gary Evans from Mersey Ferries, said: “It’s wonderful to be bringing such iconic music back to the River Mersey with one of Liverpool’s best-loved cover bands, Paperback Writers, performing some of the Beatles’ greatest hits.

“Our Beatles themed cruise is set to be extremely popular and we anticipate high demand, which is why we’ve chosen to run three separate cruises between April and August. All around the country and especially in Liverpool, people still love the classic Beatles hits and as part of these cruises they can enjoy the chance to sing and dance along, whilst taking in the beautiful backdrop of the UNESCO World Heritage waterfront. It’s also a chance to remind our audience that the fab four performed on board The Mersey Ferries during their rise to fame.

“We can’t wait to welcome on-board fans of all ages for an evening of popular live music. It’s set to be an experience to cherish – especially for those who enjoyed Beatlemania the first time around!”

Tickets are available for cruises on Saturday 14th April, Saturday 14th July and Saturday 25th August. Cruises will last two and a half hours, departing from Seacombe at 7.20pm and Liverpool at 7.30pm. Tickets will be priced at £20 per person with advance booking required.

The Beatles Themed Cruises are part of Mersey Ferries’ biggest ever events programme, which includes River Explorer Cruises for families as well as special cruises for adults with everything from Summer Evening Cruises to Who Dunnit thrills and Themed Music Cruises.
