Cathedral Gates, a luxury new housing development in Chilton, County Durham has opened its first home to the public.

Award-winning North East housebuilder Homes by Carlton is building 14 highly unique and characterful homes, designed to the highest standard.

From Saturday October 5, homebuyers can view the development’s show home and learn more about Cathedral Gates and the range of house types available.

The County Durham development, just eight miles from the cathedral city of Durham features 3-and 4-bedroom homes, in an up and coming area of Chilton.

Simon Walker, managing director at Homes by Carlton, said: “I am delighted to announce the opening of the new view home at Cathedral Gates, a development of high quality, affordable homes in the region.

“We’ve worked incredibly hard to design and build the homes to a very high specification, which carry an innovative design and contemporary feel, that we think will provide the perfect home for people from across the North East.

“Our homes offer a higher standard of finish than many of the other traditional house types currently on the market and we’re looking forward to hearing people’s feedback on the range of homes available.”

Easily accessible from the A1(M) and within a short commutable distance to both Durham city centre and the large market town of Darlington, the three house types at Cathedral Gates make ideal homes for first time buyers, families and professionals.

Simon added: “Prices start from £185,000 and with Help to Buy available we feel there’s a home for everyone.
“There’s a number of incentives that makes buying a new home even more affordable. For instance, we can help with legal fees or interior design.

“The development is ideally located, close to main transport links and local amenities, which adds to its appeal.

“We’ve had a lot of interest already in the homes and now the development is officially open, we expect demand to be high.”

The view home will be open from 10am on Saturday October 5.
