Independent North East law firm Hay & Kilner is celebrating double success in the 2019 Business Insider Dealmakers Awards.
The Newcastle-based firm’s specialist corporate and commercial law team is among the nominees for the Awards’ Corporate Law Firm of the Year category, while the quality of the advice the team provided to architectural practice Medical Architecture during its acquisition of London-based TM Architects has been recognised in the Deal of the Year (transaction size below £2.5m) category shortlist.
Medical Architecture is an award-winning design practice which focuses on the design and planning of healthcare environments, including hospitals, specialist care centres and integrated care facilities.
The long-established practice, which has an office on Collingwood Street in central Newcastle as well as one in London, acquired TM Architects earlier this year as part of plans to build its presence in the housing sector across South East England, in which TM Architects has a strong track record.

Other projects on which the firm’s corporate and commercial team has advised throughout a busy year include the sale of Vet Direct Services to CVS Group Plc and the MBO of Gateshead-based publisher Kingfisher Media.
