Huddersfield PR agency Shortlisted in National Graduate Recruitment Awards

Huddersfield based marketing and PR agency, KC Communications has been shortlisted in the TARGETjobs National Graduate Recruitment Awards following a nomination by the University of Huddersfield, the only company in Yorkshire to be shortlisted in the category.

Shortlisted for the AGCAS (Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services) award, the category recognises excellence in careers and employability service engagement. It highlights the strong relationship the agency has formed with the University of Huddersfield since it was established in 2014. Other companies shortlisted include Business West (nominated by University of Exeter), The Environment Agency (nominated by Brunei University London) and the Ministry of Justice (nominated by University of Gloucester).

Over the years KC Communications has welcomed ten permanent, internship and work experience students, with three of its current staff University of Huddersfield alumni. It has also actively engaged with the Santander SME internship programme which supports employers to provide paid placements between 4 and 8 weeks allowing the agency to talent spot and providing students with meaningful work experience to support their future career development.

Commenting on the shortlist, Katrina Cliffe, founder and managing director of KC Communications said: “We have a fantastic relationship with the University of Huddersfield, and they have provided excellent support at a time we have needed to bring new talent into the business. I’m extremely honoured that they have chosen to recognise this in nominating us for this award and I am delighted that a small business from Yorkshire is competing against some of the UK and the world’s biggest businesses.”


Cerys Jones, Business Partnership Coordinator at University of Huddersfield added: “We nominated KC Communications due to their long standing partnership with the University. KC have been supporting our students and graduates into employment for the past 6 years through work experience initiatives, internships and graduate jobs – we felt it was important to celebrate this . The team visit us on campus to host presentations to students and other businesses to share their experiences in the industry, offering advice and guidance. This commitment to the community and supporting our student/graduate talent made Katrina and the team a great choice.”

The winners will be announced at a black tie awards ceremony which takes place at Grosvenor House, London on Thursday 23rd July 2020.
