Large Scale Networking Event Will Kick Leeds Digital Festival Off In Style

The opening event of this year’s Leeds Digital Festival could become the biggest online free networking session in the UK this year, and anyone interested in participating is being urged to register for it now.

The launch event will take place on Monday 20th September, between 8am and 9am, and online meeting giant, Zoom is lending its support by doubling its maximum capacity to create an online facility for up to 1,000 guests, complete with 100 breakout rooms.

The session will be one of four large-scale online networking events hosted by Jonny Ross from Fleek Marketing during Leeds Digital Festival, which will celebrate digital culture in all its forms, with 297 events in a 10-day period until Friday 1st October.

The inaugural event will also feature digital, technology and fintech expert Julian Wells, from Whitecap Consulting alongside Emma Beverley, executive producer for LEEDS 2023, who is responsible for delivering creative commissions, co-productions, collaborations and events for the Year of Culture.

In addition to insightful conversations covering digital marketing, fintech, arts and culture, the event will offer fast-paced and interactive speed networking opportunities.

Jonny Ross said: “This first event will be one of four we’ll be running during Leeds Digital Festival and it will be fun, fast, interesting and welcoming to everyone. Over the last 18 months, networking opportunities have been few and far between, so with the added capacity from Zoom for up to 1,000 people, we’re hoping to make it one to remember.”

Stuart Clarke, co-founder and Festival Director of Leeds Digital Festival, said: “Over the last six years Leeds Digital Festival has grown into one of the largest technology events in the country. This year approximately three quarters of our events will be virtual, with speakers from across the UK, Europe and the world, including Japan, the Philippines and Mongolia, but there will also be a wide range of in-person events taking place in Leeds.

“Fleek Marketing’s launch event promises to be a valuable and enjoyable networking session that will also be entertaining, which epitomises what Leeds Digital Festival is all about. It’s completely free of charge and will be full of insights, so I’d urge everyone to register for it now.”

Fleek Marketing will be hosting further large-scale online networking events during Leeds Digital Festival on the 23rd September at 4pm, the 27th September at 8am and the 30th September at 4pm.
