Legal 500 recognition for Taylor&Emmet family head

Michaela Evans, Taylor&Emmet's head of family law, who has been named a leading individual by The Legal 500.

The head of family law at Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP has been named one of just four leading individuals in the region by industry barometer, The Legal 500.

Michaela Evans is praised by the annual review of the legal market, which notes she is “recommended by her clients without hesitation.”

Taylor&Emmet’s celebrated family law team has retained its position as one of three firms in The Legal 500’s top tier in South and East Yorkshire and is described as “providing excellent advice in a personable way.” Legal Aid specialist, Lucy Rodgers, also receives a personal recommendation.

Under the guidance of department head, Alex Watkinson, the firm’s contentious probate team has retained its tier two status. It is noted for its breadth of work and its ability to attract local clients, as well as those from further afield, including London.

A further four departments achieved tier three status, namely the corporate, commercial litigation, personal injury and clinical negligence teams. The latter was noted for “advising on claims of maximum severity and complexity” with three clinical negligence specialists being singled out by researchers, James Drydale, Paul Fouad and Camilla Attwood.

Neil Riley, a member of Taylor&Emmet’s management board, said: “On behalf of everyone at the firm, I would like to congratulate Michaela on achieving The Legal 500’s highest accolade, leading individual status. It proves what we already know – that she is one of the very best in her field. Indeed, all 11 of our specialists named in the 2020 edition should be proud that their efforts have been recognised. We are all dedicated to putting the clients’ needs first and this has been reflected in the excellent reviews we received.”
