Manchester’s mobedia has created a series of animated videos for leading education charity AQA to support the launch of its new approach to performance management.

AQA qualifications are highly valued by employers and universities around the world. They are taught mainly in schools and colleges and include GCSEs, AS and A-levels, the Extended Project Qualification, the AQA Baccalaureate, Tech-levels and Technical Awards.

The charity has recently introduced new practices to reinforce the shift towards self-directed learning and performance. To communicate these changes mobedia has developed five short explainer films that describe the value of setting collaborative team goals and having ongoing check-ins that focus on individual and organisational growth.

Each film uses a vibrant, colourful animation style and a welcoming voiceover to create a positive and inclusive feel. The creative treatment was developed in close partnership with AQA’s communications team, which included ideas workshops at mobedia’s Manchester offices.

mobedia’s Creative Director Gary Bannister-Simm commented: “We all know that change can be received in different ways. Our aim was to clearly communicate the benefits that effective performance management can bring using memorable and relatable content, whilst addressing common questions that people might have.”

Anna Di Lorenzo, Organisational Development Manager at AQA, said: “It was great working with the team at mobedia. Our new performance approach is key to creating a great place to work and we wanted something fresh and aligned to our tone of voice to help us communicate the importance of our new ways of working.

“The explainer animations have been very positively received across our organisation and we’re now very excited to start collaborating on a new, larger project”.
