TikTok is on everyone’s radar in one way or another thanks to the huge popularity of the social media platform amongst Gen Z and Millennials – but after witnessing a rising number of businesses struggling with where to start when it comes to mastering TikTok, marketing specialist and sought after social media marketing trainer, Rebecca Hopwood, was inspired to find a way to help more businesses from across the UK tackle this common problem.

This led Rebecca, Founder of Leeds-based specialist social media marketing agency, Youbee Media and marketing training partner for the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s funded start-up business programme, AD:VENTURE, Leeds Art University, Leeds University and the Business & IP Centre in Leeds – to develop an in-depth course ‘TikTok for Business: The Complete DIY Marketing Guide’, which has just launched as part of the new online social media marketing, professional development platform – The Hive Academy.

Members of the academy will be able to access on-demand course content, similar to what clients receive in Rebecca’s popular in-person and existing online training sessions. The TikTok for Business course aims to help a wide range of businesses understand how to use the platform as a business, how to determine if it’s the right platform for their brand, and how to create TikTok content that converts.

Before launching the course online, Rebecca has delivered 10 fully booked in-person training sessions of the TikTok course in the last 12 months, helping over 150 businesses find success with their TikTok goals.

Explaining the inspiration behind The Hive Academy and TikTok for Business course, Rebecca shared: “Bookings for our workshops have skyrocketed in the last couple of years, with more and more enquiries coming in, and with the same questions coming up time and time again on specific topics like TikTok. I realised there was an opportunity to help meet the needs of more people if we developed our training courses into easily accessible, dedicated online courses.

“We’ve also built the academy to have an interactive, welcoming community element that encourages people to share knowledge, network and collaborate, as we know this is something many business owners, remote workers and freelancers can benefit from”.

Marketing and Communications Manager for AD:VENTURE, Daneile Moore from Leeds City Council, shared her thoughts on the TikTok course: “Having delivered many workshops to our clients, Rebecca’s extensive expertise combined with a warm, friendly delivery style means even those new to TikTok come away feeling more confident, and businesses that are struggling to gain the traction they want, get lots of new ideas they can put into practice. Business owners on our programme frequently ask for more training like this, which helps them to find focus and direction on this hot topic”

Along with rich educational resources that deep dive into specific social media platforms and common areas businesses find tricky with social media management and content creation, members will also receive regular easy-to-digest bulletins on the latest developments, from algorithm changes to trending topics and best practices; and opportunities to participate in hands-on challenges to practice and hone in on their TikTok content creation skills.
