Maxim FM Wins Major Local Authority Contracts As Business Growth Continues

The North East’s largest independent contract cleaning and facilities management firm has won contracts with two major local authorities as it continues to grow on the back of success in the public and private sectors.

Maxim Facilities Management provides commercial contract cleaning and facilities management services to public and private sector clients, and already works with a growing number of well-known firms and organisations including Hitachi, Quorn, Paragon Group, Gentoo and the Scottish Prison Service.

Maxim has now signed a four-year partnership agreement with Lancashire County Council to provide its services in a range of locations around the county, while it has also signed up to a framework agreement with Liverpool City Council.

The Sunderland-headquartered business has increased its workforce by around 100 people in the last year and now employs around 1,300 staff, 500 of whom are based in the North East.

Its annual turnover is expected to reach £11.5m for the next financial year, and it is continuing to work towards its goal of becoming a £20m turnover company with around 2,000 employees.

Maxim has grown its presence in South West England in the last year following its acquisition in June 2018 of the cleaning division of Swindon-headquartered Gillsbrook FM Services Ltd.

It also has offices in Leeds and Glasgow, and is continuing to particularly build its presence in the education sector, working with over 100 schools, further education and higher education institutions.

Graham Conway, founder and managing director at Maxim FM, says: “We are already well-established as the North East’s largest independent cleaning and facilities management firm, and these latest contract successes very much reaffirm this position.

“As well as bringing new clients on board around the UK, we’re also seeing many existing customers signing contract extensions and renewals, which is the best possible testament to the quality of service that our team provides.

“The education sector continues to be a high-performing area for us, and the sector-specific package we developed to enable schools, colleges and other educational institutions to access the services they require in a cost-efficient and effective way is in ever-greater demand.

“As a company that’s very firmly headquartered in the North East, it’s especially pleasing to be passing the 500 mark for the number of people that we employ across the region.

“We’re aiming to keep increasing our overall workforce as the business expands, both organically and potentially through acquisitions if the right opportunities come up.”
