A Barnsley Site Manager, responsible for building five-star homes, has received a prestigious industry award.
David Sharman, Senior Site Manager at Miller Homes’ The Fairways development in Barnsley, received the Pride in the Job Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) at a recent event.
Just 449 Site Managers across the UK, from an initial pool of thousands, have been chosen to receive a quality award in recognition of their leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to health and safety standards.
David will now go through the regional final, which will take place in October, when he will be competing for a Seal of Excellence and Regional Winner award.
“This is a superb accolade for David and the business and is testament to his leadership skills and the ability and hard work of his team,” said Justin Tranmere, Operations Director, Miller Homes Yorkshire. “We wish him lots of luck in the next stage of the awards and hope he and his team feel proud of their achievement.”
The NHBC Pride in the Job awards are assessed across over 40 areas of site management, including technical knowledge, quality control and the ability to keep consistency throughout the build process. Therefore, to be recognised as highly successful in every one of these sections is an incredible achievement.
The Fairways brings 235-, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes to Wombwell, near Barnsley and will make a contribution to the local community of over £2m through Section 106 obligations.
“I am delighted to receive this accolade and it’s a great representation of the amazing team that we have at The Fairways,” said David. “We all take great pride in the quality of our site, the houses we build and the relationships we forge with our customers. I am incredibly proud of the efforts the team continues to make daily, and they deserve this recognition too.”
