Six gold standards for portable site accommodation company

A leading hirer of secure storage containers and portable site accommodation has successfully achieved a gold level transport award for the sixth consecutive year.

Following an assessment at its London branch, Mobile Mini was awarded the accreditation for its growing fleet of HGV delivery vehicles, in the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), an initiative operated by Transport for London.

The voluntary accreditation scheme, which aims to drive up standards among commercial vehicle operators throughout the UK, requires fleet operators to demonstrate meaningful improvements in safety, environmental impact and efficiency in order to be awarded the gold level.

The Company’s fleet of 60 lorry-mounted crane vehicles, one of the largest of its kind in the UK, was increased this year with the addition of eight new Scania trucks, including two 32T GVW 8-wheelers with FASSI820 cranes and front mounted legs.

Mobile Mini has become the first in its industry to achieve the FORS Gold Award for six years running, demonstrating that the company is leading the way in its ongoing commitment to safety and effective vehicle management.

Andy Cowell, national transport manager for Mobile Mini, said: “We’re extremely proud as a company to have achieved gold level for another year. As a contractual condition for many clients when delivering to their sites, the FORS standard has been a catalyst to our advances in vehicle technology and focus on people and processes.”

He added: “Being the first in our industry to achieve such long-running success means it’s important to us to maintain the standard. As such, we are constantly reviewing our vehicles, driver behaviour and processes to improve safety, and improve fuel efficiency, as well as reduce road-related incidents.”
