Clayton-based domiciliary care provider, Care2Care (Yorkshire) Ltd, has been awarded Home Care Provider of the Year for the second year running by the Yorkshire Prestige Awards.
Care2Care (Yorkshire) Ltd is a well-known local provider of at-home care for adults across Bradford and West Yorkshire. As well as caring for elderly members of the community still living in their own homes, the organisation provides care and support to people with learning disabilities, comprehensive care for complex needs, and palliative care for people with end-of-life requirements.
Phill Lautman, Chief Operating Officer at Care2Care, said: “We were absolutely thrilled to learn we’ve won this accolade for the second year in a row. It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to thank our brilliant staff for a job well done. They all work incredibly hard, but we have to make a special mention of our community care teams and community team leaders who are hands-on, every single day, providing an exceptional standard of care across the region. They do a fantastic job and we’re proud of them all.”
The Yorkshire Prestige Awards are annual business awards that recognise and celebrate Yorkshire businesses that have proven to be the best in their sector over the previous 12 months. The judging panel base their decisions on several factors including service excellence and consistency, values and ethics, and innovative practices.
Zoe Sedgwick, Operations Director at Care2Care, said: “Winning the award last year was a culmination of ten years of developing the knowledge and skill required to sustain a health and social care provision. It’s indicative of us never resting on our laurels or becoming complacent and the fact we’ve been successful for a second-year running provides me with confidence that we have continued to develop and strive for even higher standards.”
The award comes in the year that Care2Care is celebrating its ten-year anniversary and the organisation’s CEO, Gillian Wallbank, says that winning this award two-years in a row reflects the motivation around establishing Care2Care in 2014, as well as the values and goals that have been instrumental in growing it into a noted care provider in the local area.
“I set up Care2Care because I wanted to consistently provide high quality, comprehensive care to those who need it the most whilst enabling them to remain in their own homes,” says Gillian. “All the evidence shows that involving people in their own treatment and being able to stay at home for that care significantly improves outcomes, so it’s incredibly important to us not just that we get it right, but that we go above and beyond. We want clients to get exactly what they need and know they can rely on us 100%.”
Over the last 12 months, Care2Care has experienced significant growth, going from 45 employees to almost 150 and winning its first contract with Bradford District Council. It is continuing to expand rapidly, with employees likely to top 200 by the end of this year.
Both Gillian and Phill come from social care backgrounds themselves, having spent many years as care professionals before Gill set up Care2Care (Yorkshire) Ltd in 2014. They are strong advocates of continuing professional development and provide ongoing training and qualifications to their staff through the training arm of the organisation, Train2Care (Yorkshire) Limited. Phill says this has helped the business become a leading provider of home care in the region and that they are increasingly known for having the skills and expertise to take on complex cases, both behavioural and clinical, that require a much greater depth of knowledge and skill.
“We pride ourselves on being able to provide sensitive, comprehensive support to people who really need our depth of service and high level of expertise,” says Phill. “Our main focus is always on continuing to provide this in a personalised way to people in their own homes, to the high standards that the Home Care Provider of Year award acknowledges.
