A Tidy Mind Team has been launched as an independent professional organising and decluttering business, founded by local businesswoman Rachel Cordingley.

The original A Tidy Mind business was established in Menston and later grew into a national franchise. It has now been relaunched as an independent, team-led service, building on its established foundations.

Rachel continues to work alongside her team of nine professional organisers, all of whom have supported both existing and new clients throughout the transition.

Rachel says the name A Tidy Mind Team reflects the origins of the business while highlighting the importance of the people behind the service. The team approach recognises that the collective skills, experience and care offered are greater than any one individual alone.

While most clients work one-to-one with a professional organiser, some circumstances benefit from a larger team approach. As Rachel explains, “teamwork makes the dream work”.

Rachel has worked as a professional organiser and declutter coach since 2015. During the development and launch of the new business, she has continued to work hands-on with clients. Many clients, often neurodiverse or experiencing mental health challenges, feel overwhelmed by their belongings, struggle to know where to begin, or find themselves stuck partway through the process.

There is no standardised approach. Every service is tailored to suit the needs, preferences and pace of each individual client.

A Tidy Mind Team helps clients decide what to keep and what to let go, make better use of storage space, create a home for every item and return items to where they belong. This results in homes that are easier to live in and maintain. A key part of the ethos is supporting clients to develop realistic tidy habits and routines. As Rachel comments, “what is one person’s trash is another’s treasure”, and the team actively rehomes, donates and recycles unwanted items wherever possible.

Support is offered across all areas of decluttering and organising, including paperwork, house moves, home styling, life transitions, house clearances following bereavement, coaching, financial organising and budgeting, hoarding tendencies, and life administration.

The team is trained to UK APDO (Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers) standards and has specialist training in supporting clients with ADHD, autism, PTSD, CPTSD and related conditions.

Based in Ilkley, A Tidy Mind Team works across Yorkshire, as well as Humberside, Lancashire and surrounding areas.

They welcome hearing from anyone who feels ready to ask for support, offering a service rooted in kindness, empathy and respect. A Tidy Mind Team works at each client’s pace, following their decisions, and provides practical, hands-on help alongside guidance and encouragement throughout the process.

With a strong focus on compassion, sustainability and long-term change, A Tidy Mind Team aims to help people feel calmer, more in control and able to enjoy their homes again.
