A Lancashire accounting and business advisory firm has announced its support for the 2019 Lancashire Sports Awards.

Baldwins, a CogitalGroup company, will sponsor the Community Project of the Year award, which recognises local schemes which have engaged with the community and helped to increase and sustain participation in physical activity.

With its 18th ceremony set to take place on Friday November 22nd and over 350 guests expected to attend, including headline sponsor Collinson Construction, the Lancashire Sports Awards will showcase and celebrate the sporting achievements of those across the county.

The Lancashire Sports Awards, which will be held at The Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Clayton Le Moors, will welcome local sporting legend, Helen Clitheroe, who is a two-time Olympian and the 2011 Euro 3000m Champion. She will be a member of the judging panel and will join in the celebrations at the awards ceremony.

Established by Active Lancashire in partnership with the county’s local authorities, the ceremony acknowledges those, young and old, that have shown dedication to perform at the highest level, or those who work tirelessly to support individuals or clubs.

Chief Executive of Active Lancashire, Adrian Leather, said: “We can’t wait to celebrate another fantastic year of sport in Lancashire once again – it’s going to be a brilliant evening.

“We are really fortunate and appreciative of the support we receive. Without the generous support from sponsors like Baldwins we would not be able to hold the awards, as we don’t receive any funding for hosting the event, so I would like to say thank you to those businesses.”

Louise Highton, partner at Baldwins’ Preston office, said: “Baldwins is expanding in Lancashire and although we are a national firm, our focus is how we can support the local community, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to support sport in Lancashire.

“We actively promote health and wellbeing within our team, so sponsoring the community category in the Lancashire Sports Awards seemed like the ideal match.”

Baldwins, which has offices in Manchester, Stockport, Bolton, Lancaster, Preston, Rossendale and Holywell, specialises in accountancy and business advisory services, including corporate finance and specialist tax advice to all firms from start-ups to mature companies, across a broad range of industry sectors.
