Manchester is set to host the UK premiere of Europe’s most popular Banksy exhibition, The Mystery of Banksy – A Genius Mind, opening on 13 March 2026 at Depot Mayfield. The exhibition, which runs until 5 July 2026, promises a comprehensive exploration of the enigmatic street artist’s work through an interactive display featuring over 200 reimagined pieces.

Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse collection that includes graffiti, photographs, sculptures, video installations, and prints, all specially reproduced for this exhibition. This marks the first time the global exhibition will be showcased in the UK after attracting over 3.5 million visitors across 36 cities, including Berlin and Stockholm.

Among the reimagined works will be notable pieces such as the iconic Girl With Balloon, the thought-provoking Devolved Parliament, and a fully “Banksified” London Underground carriage. A prominent feature of the exhibition will be a video presentation detailing the most significant milestones in Banksy’s career, providing context to his impactful art.

John Carrigan, Director of Cartel Events Limited, expressed enthusiasm about launching the exhibition in Manchester, which he described as the UK’s hub of modern culture. He highlighted the collaboration with COFO Exhibitions, a leading entertainment promoter with over 50 years of experience in international exhibitions, assuring visitors of an engaging experience.

Ticket prices for the exhibition start at £22 for adults, while children under six can attend for free. Concession tickets are available for those aged 7-16, seniors, and NHS workers, making the exhibition accessible to a wide audience.

In a notable partnership, The Christie Charity, a specialist cancer centre in Manchester, will benefit from the exhibition. The Christie has been serving the local community for over 120 years, caring for more than 60,000 patients annually. The exhibition will feature “tap to donate” spots, alongside a dedicated charity event and an exclusive artwork auction, with proceeds aimed at funding a new Total Body PET-CT scanner to improve cancer diagnosis and patient care.

Louise Hadley, Chief Executive of The Christie Charity, stated her excitement about the collaboration, recognising the potential benefits for cancer patients both now and in the future.

Additionally, the Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly has been announced as the Official Hotel Partner for the exhibition. Guests can expect special stay packages, art-inspired experiences, and curated accommodations, with further details to be disclosed closer to the opening date.

The exhibition is set to be a significant cultural event for Manchester, attracting art enthusiasts and the general public alike, while supporting a vital cause in the process.
