The Bolam Group, made up of Moody Logistics, Heathline Commercials, and MCR Services, has celebrated individual employee achievements alongside 130 years combined service.
The milestone highlights the Cramlington-based Group’s people-first approach, with many employees building long-term careers and progressing across different roles and businesses.
The Alan Moody Employee of the Year Award has been presented to Craig Summers, from Ashington, one of Heathline Commercials’ lead fitters. Craig was also named Apprentice of the Year at the Institute of Road Transport Engineers Awards in October.
This year’s Driver of the Year Award went to Micky Walton, of Cramlington, who achieved no accidents, 100% attendance, zero tachograph errors and no defective vehicle reports, alongside the highest number of employee votes.
A 30-year service award was presented to Colin Dixon, a tachograph technician at servicing and repair specialist Heathline Commercials. Colin, of Morpeth, is well known locally for driving the company’s restored vintage truck Peggy, a 1950 Bedford OLB, to community events including Morpeth Fair.
Twenty-five-year awards were presented to Ian Brown, of Stakeford, a Moody Logistics driver known for being first through the door each morning, and Operations Director Richard Moody, recognised for his long-standing contribution to the business.
Ten-year service awards went to Paul Tweddell, of Stakeford, a twice-named Driver of the Year who regularly covers the run to Hexham and the Tyne Valley; Steve Doyle, of Killingsworth, a warehouse team member; and Matthew Fretwell, from Blyth, who joined MCR Services as an apprentice and is now Production Manager, alongside his role as Warehouse Manager at Moody Logistics.
They were joined by Dave Dickinson, from Cramlington, a former Class 1 driver now working at MCR Services, which specialises in contract packing, fulfilment and reworking, and Dean Dodd, from Blyth, who has transitioned from being Moody’s first ever driver apprentice more than a decade ago, to becoming an apprentice technician with Heathline Commercials.
