David Wilson Homes Site Manager Recognised Among The Best In The Country

A Site Manager for David Wilson Homes North West has won a top national award for site quality from the National House-Building Council (NHBC). Martin Prendergast (57) has won a prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job Quality award, considered to be the “Oscar of the housebuilding industry”.

Now in their 38th year the Pride in the Job awards recognise the very best Site Managers from around the country. In total parent company Barratt Developments Site Managers won 83 Pride in the Job awards, more than any other housebuilder this year. Barratt has now won more Pride in the Jobs awards for a record 14 years in a row, making it the clear industry leader in site management.

Martin, who was born in Alsager said: “It has been an honour to win, especially as it’s my first Pride in the Job.

“I would like congratulate my site team and subcontractors for their efforts in winning this award, I’m really proud of them! I’d also like to make a special mention to my Assistant Site Manager, Ian Boden, for being my right hand man.

“I would also like thank my NHBC inspection team Jon Warburton and his manager Richard Jukes for all their help and advice over the past year , it was very much appreciated.”

Each year more than 16,000 site managers enter the competition and are judged against strict evaluation criteria, with just 450 individual winners then being chosen. Every winner has been rigorously assessed during the during the past twelve months across 37 areas, including their technical knowledge, quality controls, consistency, health and safety and customer service.

Graham Swann, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes North West, said: “These awards demonstrate that our Site Managers are building some of the best quality homes in the country. Customers who buy a home on a Pride in the Job winning site are benefiting from a really high quality product. By once again winning more of these awards than any other housebuilder it shows the commitment we have made to excellence in construction and putting customers at the heart of everything we do.”

These awards closely follow parent company Barratt Developments being awarded five stars by the Home Builders Federation for customer satisfaction. To be ranked as five star means that more than 90% of customers would recommend a home to a friend and Barratt is the only major national housebuilder to be rated five star for nine years in a row.
