Yorkshire commercial design and build specialist, Design Tonic, has unveiled a new AI-powered design tool believed to be the first platform of its kind in the sector.
Unlike traditional online mood boards or generic AI tools used for residential spaces, the new web-based tool has been designed specifically for commercial environments and allows businesses planning a workplace or commercial fit-out to visualise a design that is bespoke to them.
The tool helps users explore ideas for offices, hospitality venues, retail environments and other commercial settings in a matter of seconds. Users can experiment with different themes, incorporate brand colours or create concepts tailored to their business, helping them visualise the look and feel of a potential space much earlier in the design process.
The platform is free to use, requires no app download, and provides a fast and intuitive way for businesses to start shaping their future workspace before beginning the full design and fit-out process.
As well as helping users refine their design direction, the tool also provides a more interactive starting point for potential projects and allows them to explore ideas with Design Tonic that are more relevant to real workplace and commercial environments.
The platform was created in collaboration with Leeds-based digital experience specialists Show + Tell, bringing together design expertise and AI technology to deliver a bespoke digital product.
Design Tonic co-founder, Amanda Cook, said: “As a business, we are bold and forward-thinking, and always looking at how we can combine technology and creativity to lead the sector. With AI rapidly transforming creative industries we’re keen to embrace new ways of working and inspire organisations to think more creatively about their environments.
“Businesses often begin their design journey with us by describing their vision or sharing inspiration boards. However, there are currently very few tools built specifically for visualising commercial interiors, so we decided to create our own.
“We wanted to develop something that makes the earliest stage of designing a commercial space far more engaging and inspiring than simply filling out an enquiry form. The tool allows users to instantly generate ideas tailored to their brand, their aesthetic and the type of space they want to create.
“It also allows us to tap into a client’s vision from the very outset, showing how technology can enhance the design process and help shape workspace ideas earlier and more effectively. We are hugely excited to introduce it to our clients and see how it’s used in practice to explore new ideas and approach the design of commercial spaces in a more creative and interactive way.”
