Heathline Commercials Ltd has taken on the assets and premises of a former HGV and LGV garage together with its existing workforce and customers to significantly strengthen its footprint across Tyneside and the wider North East.

Based in Cramlington, Northumberland, Heathline Commercials Ltd is a family-run commercial vehicle servicing and repairs specialist, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary. In 2020, it moved into its present £500,000 service centre at Bolam Business Park, reflecting its continued investment in facilities, technology and capability.

The acquisition, involving an undisclosed sum, has enabled Heathline to almost double in size, increasing its total workforce from 14 to 22 while expanding its operational capacity and geographical coverage.

It provides a comprehensive range of services, including commercial vehicle servicing and repairs, MOT preparation and inspections to DVSA standards, and is recognised as one of the region’s leading independent centres for tachograph repairs and calibration. It also offers breakdown support, body repairs and holds an extensive stock of parts for all makes of truck, trailer, bus, van and horsebox.

Gavin Cape, Engineering Director at Heathline Commercials, said: “The acquisition of the workshops in Wallsend represents an exciting and important step forward as we continue to grow our presence across the North East.

“Retaining the existing workshops and, crucially, the skilled team was a priority for us from the outset. Their experience, technical knowledge and customer relationships align perfectly with our own values and standards. As we celebrate 50 years in business, this move enables us to invest further in the region, create new opportunities, and continue delivering the reliable, high-quality service our customers expect.”
