GMI Construction Group has completed the construction of the new Dakota Manchester Airport hotel, with the luxury development now welcoming its first guests.
The seven-storey, 154-bedroom hotel has been delivered on behalf of Evans Property Group and is located on Enterprise Way within the 60-acre MIX Manchester science, innovation and manufacturing campus.
The project marks the fifth collaboration between GMI and Evans Property Group, owner of the Dakota Hotels brand, following the successful delivery of Dakota hotels in Manchester city centre, Leeds, Glasgow and Newcastle Quayside.
Designed by KPP Architects, the hotel features a range of accommodation including Classic King Rooms, Junior Suites, Signature Suites and Garden King Rooms, alongside Dakota’s signature bar and brasserie-style grill centred around a feature bar.
The development is expected to create more than 150 jobs and further strengthens Manchester Airport’s hospitality offer ahead of the busy summer travel season.
Phillip Johnson, Regional Director, North West at GMI Construction Group, said: “The practical completion of Dakota Manchester Airport represents another significant milestone in our long-standing relationship with Evans Property Group and the Dakota brand.
“This is a high-quality development that showcases GMI’s expertise in delivering premium hospitality projects and our ability to meet the exacting standards associated with luxury hotel construction.
“Working collaboratively with the client team, consultants and supply chain partners, we have delivered a hotel that will become a standout addition to Manchester Airport’s hospitality landscape.”
Marc Banks, representing Evans Property Group, added: “We are delighted to have successfully completed this project. From concept to completion, the development team has worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life, and we are incredibly proud of what has been achieved.
“Our new hotel is more than just a building; it’s a destination and reflects our commitment to exceptional hospitality.”
The completion further strengthens GMI’s presence across the North West, where the contractor continues to deliver projects spanning the hospitality, commercial, life sciences, logistics and residential sectors.
