Mabo Hit The Big 5-0

Managing Director Lee Mableson, Apprentices’ Megan Tipper and Dominic Leo and Operations Director Rob Jackson

Mabo’s Operations Director Rob Jackson says; ‘It’s great to be breaking such a milestone in our company’s growth and particularly apt that it is as we employ two new apprentices. We’ve made a habit of giving people their first career opportunity and the two newest appointments will be looking to follow the example set by our existing staff; particularly the three people who have recently completed apprenticeships and earned themselves permanent roles with Mabo.’

This time last year Mabo’s staff numbers were at 30 with 3 apprentices; over the past 12 months Mabo have taken on a further 21 full time staff members including 2 apprentices to bring their total to 51. With the success Mabo have achieved from being apart of an apprenticeship scheme, they have no plans to stop using this method when it comes to hiring.

Rob adds, ‘We’ve had fantastic success in the past through the apprenticeship placements we’ve offered with the apprentices hugely benefitting from the combination of on-the-job training and studying for a recognised qualification, as well as being able to earn as they train. It gives us the opportunity to take on some of the regions most talented and driven young people and mould them into key employees.’

Mabo, who work with the likes of Bannatynes, Lifestyle Fitness and JT Atkinson are expected to see their multi-directional growth continue over the next year. It’s begun already with a recent expansion onto the 6th floor of their office block on Albert Road in the heart of Middlesbrough town centre.

Lee Mableson, Managing Director says, “We’ve had success in growing mabo from day one and I’m happy to say, even with tough market conditions for businesses lately, we’ve continued our growth. We’ve recently invested in another floor in the Albert North building where we’re based and have recruited more staff to facilitate further growth. It really comes down to our business ethics and great staff that we have as to the reason we’ve been successful, without them we can’t deliver our award-winning service.

We’re looking forward to seeing how we advance over the next couple of years, it’s an exciting journey we’re on.”
