A purpose-built Cheshire nursing home praised for being homely and cheerful is under new ownership.
Montane Care brokered the sale of Sable Cottage Nursing Home for Sunil Patel, who has now exited the sector to pursue new opportunities.
Sable Cottage has been acquired for an undisclosed sum by JAS Care Homes, which is led by Arun Jothinath.
The home, in Kelsall, near Tarporley, provides specialist residential, nursing, dementia, day and respite care for up to 38 residents. It has a Care Quality Commission rating of good.
Matthew Dootson, of Clarke Willmott, and Jonathan Hill, of Shakespeare Martineau, provided legal advice on the deal to Mr Patel and Mr Jothinath respectively.
Montane Care, which provides commercial advice on the sale and acquisition of care homes and childcare facilities across the UK, is part of the Montane group of businesses.
The group has its headquarters in Buxton, Derbyshire, and offices in Chorley, Lancashire, and Winsford, Cheshire. It includes Montane Finance, an award-winning, independent finance broker, and Montane Insurance, a boutique commercial broker for the hospitality and healthcare sectors.

During a Healthwatch Cheshire ‘enter and view’ visit in June, Sable Cottage was praised for its person-centered care, homely, safe and cheerful environment, warm staff interactions, well appreciated dining experience, wide variety of activities and trips and the involvement of residents in the garden and communal spaces.
