North East–based Vertu Motors plc has cemented its position as one of the UK’s leading automotive retailers after taking home three accolades at the prestigious Autotrader Retailer Awards 2025, including the coveted Retailer of the Year title.
With its head office in Gateshead, Vertu Motors plc is one of the region’s major employers, with more than 1,800 colleagues across the North East, and is the largest UK business based in the region.
The Autotrader Retailer Awards are among the most respected accolades in the UK automotive sector, celebrating excellence across retail, service, and innovation.
In addition to being named overall winner, the Group was recognised for its outstanding customer service and innovation, winning the data-led Customer Experience Award and also winning Innovation of the Year for its digital payment platform, Vertu Pay.
The Customer Experience Award was awarded for the exceptional performance and commitment of colleagues across the Group, who work to consistently deliver an amazing customer experience.
