Local housebuilder, Barratt Developments North East, is teaming up with primary school students in Hebburn to help raise awareness of road safety.
As part of Road Safety Week (15-21 November), the five star housebuilder invited year four students from Hebburn Lakes Primary School to design road posters for the entrance at its nearby Bedewell Court development.
Encouraging awareness amongst students and local drivers, the posters have been designed to highlight the dangers of driving too fast on residential roads and to encourage drivers to slow down. Three student designs will be chosen and displayed as signs at the entrance to the local development.
Emily Watson, Sales Manager at Bedewell Court said “We’re really pleased with the children’s posters and we’re looking forward to making them into road signs for Bedewell Court. We hope the children’s road signs will make drivers in the area consider their speed and help keep children safe from speeding cars.”
Michelle Reilly, Art Coordinator at Hebburn Lakes Primary School, added “The children really enjoyed designing their road signs for Barratt. The activity encouraged them to be aware of speeding drivers and to take care when crossing the road. We can’t wait to find out who’s posters have been selected and to see the final signs take pride of place at Bedewell Court.”
Barratt Homes’ Bedewell Court is an award winning development, offering a range of spacious three bedroom homes. Priced from £199,995, prospective buyers can reserve their new home with a reduced reservation fee of £99 for a limited time or trade their current property in for a new home using the housebuilder’s own Part Exchange scheme.
