Carter Towler’s retail agency team has successfully concluded three notable transactions across the region with the acquisition of a retail unit in the centre of Harrogate and the sale of two properties in Bridlington and Ripon behalf of retained clients.
Commenting on the transactions, Carter Towler’s head of retail Pete Bradbury said: “As most people are aware the retail sector has been going through a very tough period, but I’m extremely encouraged to see momentum gathering again, particularly with sales and acquisitions. Acting on behalf of Yorkshire Cancer Research, the chartered surveyors negotiated the letting of the former Porters clothing store on Oxford Street, Harrogate. This is the third acquisition Carter Towler has conducted for the charity who have plans to open more charity shops across the Yorkshire region.
In Bridlington, the company completed the sale of a former Co-op Food store to York-based developer S. Harrison. The 0.5 acre property is situated on the Promenade and planning permission has been submitted for a change of use.
For the third deal Carter Towler negotiated the sale of the former Yorkshire Bank building on Market Square, Ripon on behalf of Bridgehouse Properties to Newtons solicitors. Newtons has 9 offices across Yorkshire and the North East and employs 90 staff.
