Simpson Wood’s Managing Director, Daniel McAllister, was awarded Highly Commended in the Managing Partner of the Year category at the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards, held last week at New Dock Hall in Leeds.
The Yorkshire Accountancy Awards is a prestigious industry set of awards that take place annually. They celebrate Yorkshire’s most outstanding accountancy firms that have consistently shown excellence in their fields. The independent panel of judges this year included the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Derek Blair; and the President of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT), Graham Batty.
The Managing Partner of the Year category recognises leadership, strategic direction and contribution to the wider profession.
“We’re really proud to have been recognised by the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards,” said Daniel McAllister. “To be Highly Commended in the Managing Partner category reflects the strength of the team around me and the direction we’re taking as a firm. Simpson Wood has always been built on long-term relationships and disciplined advice, and it’s encouraging to see that acknowledged.”
The firm was also shortlisted for the Private Client Award, recognising the strength of its integrated accountancy, tax and wealth management offering.
“Those shortlisted certainly did not give the judges an easy time,” said Graham Batty, President of the ATT and Chair of the Awards’ independent judging panel. “There were some outstanding entries and a lot of debate to arrive at the final decisions.”
Simpson Wood has been part of the Yorkshire business community since 1880 and has been based at its offices in Huddersfield, which are the former site of the town’s historic stock exchange, for more than 100 years. The firm provides comprehensive accountancy, tax, financial planning and wealth management services to business owners, families and growing companies across the region and beyond.
