Durham-founded wellness brand GLOW has announced a significant expansion programme across the North East, backed by a multi-million pound investment and the creation of up to 50 new jobs in 2026.
Founded by Steven Curran, Terry Haley and Mitchell Anderson, GLOW currently operates wellness stores in Durham and Spennymoor, with a Newcastle city centre location scheduled to open in January 2026. A fourth site at Thinford has also been confirmed, alongside plans to open three further stores during 2026.
The business provides sunbeds, beauty rooms and wellness services, delivered in purpose-designed spaces with a strong focus on cleanliness, comfort, consistency and customer confidence. Since launch, GLOW has built a loyal customer base through disciplined operating standards and well-trained local teams.
GLOW already employs 20 staff, all recruited locally. The next phase of expansion is expected to create a further 50 roles, including customer-facing positions, management roles and operational support functions.
Mitchell Anderson, co-founder of GLOW, said the business had taken a deliberate and measured approach to growth.
“This is about building something sustainable and high quality,” he said.
“The investment we are making in 2026 is focused on the right locations, the right people and maintaining standards as we grow.”
He added that performance across existing sites had driven confidence in the expansion plans.
“We opened our first stores, listened carefully to customers and refined how we operate before committing to new locations,” he said.
“That discipline is why we are confident in the next phase and why we are actively seeking further sites across the region.”
GLOW has also attracted a growing public profile, with Charlotte Crosby among those who have been seen using the brand’s stores.
The Newcastle opening in early 2026 will mark a major milestone for the business, with the confirmed Thinford site and further planned openings reinforcing GLOW’s long-term commitment to the North East as an employer and investor.
Further announcements on new locations and recruitment are expected in the coming months.
