Highways Company takes on three high peaks

A team of employees from a Yorkshire Highways company are taking on the Yorkshire three peaks in a bid to raise £1,000 for charity.

Wakefield-based Route One Highways are taking on The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge this Saturday 4th June for the British Heart Foundation.

Six members of staff will take on the challenge, a 24-miles, which includes the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.

Route One are very proud to support the British Heart Foundation as employees have been affected by heart problems. Every three minutes in the UK someone is struck with a heart attack and 30% of attacks are fatal.

Gary Credland, Director says:

“This is another good example of Route One supporting charities which has affected some of our workforce and why our nominated charity for 2016 is the British Heart Foundation. We will also be supporting this charity at our 10-year anniversary Open Day in June.”

The money raised is critical to carrying out research for life saving support and the company has set up a dedicated fundraising page with hopes of raising as much money as possible for this worthy cause.
