Miller Homes has acquired land at Mill Lane, Carlton where 97 homes will be built to support the local community.
A range of two, three, four and five bedroom properties in a variety of house styles designed to support modern lifestyles will be available for buyers. The homes will include work from home spaces and energy efficient initiatives such as solar panels and EV chargers.
“Miller Homes is delighted to deliver new homes in Carlton through the purchase of this significant site,” said Justin Tranmere, Regional Managing Director, Miller Homes Yorkshire. “It’s an exciting venture which will bring a superb choice of much needed homes for people wishing to purchase property in the area.”
Miller Homes will also contribute almost £1 million to the local community through Section 106 contributions, including amounts to education, transport and health provisions.
Justin added; “This is a welcome return to this area for us, having had a very successful and popular development at nearby Thorpe Willoughby a few years ago.
“We look forward to providing high-quality, sustainable homes, and investing in the neighbourhood to ensure the community we help build in Carlton, and the people living in it, can grow and prosper.”
The development is ideally located just six miles from the town of Selby with its historic Abbey and local amenities. The M62 is just two miles away making it an ideal location for commuters, and the iconic Carlton Towers wedding and event venue opens its doors to the public for events throughout the year.
It is expected the development, which will be known as Carlton Grange, will open in early 2027.
