New deputy manager at Formby Manor

Lovett Care Group has promoted Adele Sandison from Head of Care to Deputy Manager at Formby Manor in Merseyside.

Well qualified for her new role, Adele has a decade of experience in care, starting off as Care Assistant before progressing to Team Leader then Head of Care and finally Deputy Manager.

In her new position, she takes additional responsibility for the day-to-day running of Formby Manor, supporting Home Manager Nikki Foster in delivering high quality person-centred care that is tailored to each individual’s needs, preferences and life history and ensuring care plans are regularly reviewed to truly reflect each individual as a person.

Working closely with the home’s elder community and their families, she is also focussed on building strong relationships, promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing and creating a positive and compassionate environment in which everyone can thrive.

She loves working in care, where no two days are ever the same, and believes it is an honour to care for the older generation. “I absolutely love the conversations that I have with everyone at Formby Manor,” commented Adele, “Our elder community is truly fascinating, the lives that they have lived, the stories that they tell and the experiences that they share are incredible and it’s my privilege to look after them in their later years.”

“Ultimately, I would one day love to become Home Manager but for now I am so happy to be learning from my manager Nikki and supporting our new Head of Care to help her grow into the role. Sharing our knowledge for the benefit of everyone at Formby Manor is something we are all fully committed to.”

Before joining Formby Manor, Adele worked within a dementia care community where she delivered support for individuals with challenging behaviours. She is also passionate about palliative care, and caring for residents and their families at the very end of life supporting them with dignity and compassion.

Home Manager at Formby Manor, Nikki Foster, commented: “I’m delighted that Adele has been promoted to Deputy Manager. She has the perfect combination of approachability, leadership and commitment and remains passionate about delivering the very best care for everyone every day. I know she will enjoy this role and I’m excited to have her working alongside me.”

Engaged to be married later this year, Adele is 34 years old and lives in Skelmersdale with her fiancé Dean who is the Assistant Chef at Formby Manor. When not working, they enjoy travelling, visiting relatives, spoiling their nieces and nephews and reading.
