A UK cyber security specialist has strengthened its North East footprint with the opening of a new office in Newcastle, supporting its long-term growth strategy and expanding access to digital talent.
The new office at St James’ Gate provides a base for around 20 colleagues, with headcount expected to rise to 25 in the near term as the business continues to scale its operations and support a growing national client base.
The expansion follows a period of strong performance, with the company reporting consecutive years of doubled annual recurring revenue and significant improvements in sales, revenue and profitability. Growth has been driven by a strategic shift towards managed cyber security services, complemented by specialist professional services.
According to chairman Kiran Fothergill, the move reflects both confidence in the business’s direction and the importance of place in supporting future growth. “Opening our Newcastle office is a clear marker of our ambition,” he said. “We’ve invested heavily in our people and services over recent years, and this expansion is a direct result of that transformation.”
The business now supports organisations ranging from SMEs to major public sector bodies and global enterprises, across industries including financial services, manufacturing, gaming and insurance.
Chief Financial Officer Nadine Errington said Newcastle’s established tech ecosystem and talent pipeline were key factors behind the decision. “Cyber security is a fast-moving sector, and access to exceptional talent is critical,” she said. “The Newcastle office allows us to grow our team in a way that supports both our customers and our long-term ambitions, while creating high-quality roles in the North East.”
Founded in 1996 and now approaching its 30th year, the company has positioned itself for its next phase of growth by investing in scalable services, recurring revenue and regional hubs that support both clients and colleagues.
