Kathryn Szymonowicz, centre, founder and Managing Director of Hull-based regulatory technology business Rubicon Bridge chats with guests at the company’s “Growth Mixer” event during LA Tech Week.

Regulatory technology leader Rubicon Bridge has showcased software and investment opportunities at one of the world’s most prestigious tech gatherings.

The Yorkshire-based business hosted an exclusive event during LA Tech Week to connect with potential investors and brands seeking rapid international expansion.

The “Growth Mixer” event marked a significant milestone in the company’s US expansion strategy, as the fast-growing business continues to generate investment interest and helps major brands scale internationally.

Rubicon Bridge is headquartered at the C4DI tech hub on Hull’s waterfront and also has offices in The Netherlands.

The company’s pioneering technology enables its customers to achieve rapid growth, by helping brands expand rapidly into European markets.

Rubicon Bridge’s technology tool has revolutionised regulatory compliance for food supplement and sports nutrition brands, transforming a process that traditionally takes months into a matter of minutes.

The technology has been adopted by Amazon, while Rubicon Bridge also works with big names in eCommerce such as Pattern, Front Row and Luzern.

Participation in LA Tech Week demonstrated Rubicon Bridge’s commitment to building relationships with potential investors and brand partners as it continues to scale its international operations.

Founder and Managing Director Kathryn Szymonowicz said: “LA Tech Week provided an incredible platform to connect with the US tech ecosystem and share our story of rapid international growth.

“The conversations we had with entrepreneurs and senior executives from global brands reinforced the universal challenge that regulatory complexity poses to businesses looking to scale globally. We’ve also seen incredible interest in our business from world-leading investors.

“Our participation in one of the world’s premier tech events reflects how far we’ve come as a business. The interest we’ve seen from US brands looking to expand into European markets demonstrates the significant opportunity ahead of us.”

Described as “tech’s largest decentralised conference”, LA Tech Week brings together top technology businesses, founders and funds from around the globe. This year it ran across multiple venues and events from October 13-19.

The Rubicon Bridge event, at JuneShine in Santa Monica, attracted CEOs, founders, senior executives and investors from across the US tech ecosystem.

Kathryn shared insights from Rubicon Bridge’s journey from startup to fast-scaling international business, and was joined at the event by fellow Director John Connelly and Data Specialist Patrycja Ziętara-Krzyk.

The relaxed gathering featured music and networking opportunities, and highlighted growing interest from US-based brands seeking efficient solutions to access European markets. Representatives from the likes of TikTok and Outlandish Digital, the number one US TikTok Shop partner, Shein and Amazon were among those in attendance at the booked-out event.

Rubicon Bridge also participated in the Tech Street Event on Ocean Avenue near Venice Beach in Los Angeles on October 13, marking the opening of Tech Week.

Rubicon Bridge now provides access to 12 European markets, opening doors to a combined population of 420 million potential customers. This is particularly valuable for US brands seeking European expansion.

Chief Revenue Officer Alan Worthing said: “Our growth story demonstrates the massive market opportunity that we’re addressing and the appeal of our technology in solving critical challenges for brands looking to expand internationally.

“We’re seeing unprecedented demand from companies seeking to navigate complex regulatory landscapes quickly and cost-effectively. What traditionally took brands months to achieve, can now be done in a matter of minutes using our technology.”

Rubicon Bridge saw revenue surge by almost 150% in 2024, with combined group turnover reaching £1.89m, demonstrating strong market demand for its regulatory compliance solutions.

Revenues this year are running 50% ahead of 2024, as the business continues to drive exceptional growth.
