The Barn’s Christmas Hamper Appeal To Spread Festive Cheer Backed By Trust Electric Heating

Trust Electric Heating is helping families in Yorkshire enjoy a warm and bright Christmas by supporting The Barn’s annual hamper appeal.

The initiative provides food and essentials to local households, ensuring everyone can share in the festive spirit over the Christmas period.

The Barn is a much-loved community hub in the heart of Tadcaster, located opposite the John Smith’s Brewery. Run by a dedicated team, it provides a safe and welcoming space for people of all ages, offering services that range from youth activities and social groups to a food bank and referral-based support schemes. It plays a vital role in tackling isolation and hardship, acting as a lifeline for families and individuals across the area.

The donation drive follows a successful partnership earlier this year, when Garforth-based Trust Electric Heating helped The Barn upgrade its outdated heating system with 27 of its multi award-winning NEOS electric radiators and Heatmiser smart controls. The project, funded through the Yorkshire Green grant, transformed the community hub into a warmer, more energy-efficient space, cutting costs and carbon emissions.

The hamper appeal complements The Barn’s ongoing initiatives, including its Little Helping Hands babybank, which Trust has also supported with donations of nappies, wipes and other essentials.

David Gluck, CEO of The Barn, said: “The support from Trust has been incredible. First, they helped us create a warm, welcoming space for our users, and now they’re helping us bring comfort to families at Christmas. These hampers make a huge difference to people who might otherwise struggle during the festive season.”

Fiona Conor, CEO of Trust Electric Heating, said: “The Barn does amazing work all year round, and we’re delighted to play a small part in that. Christmas should be a time of joy, and if our contribution helps families feel cared for and supported, that’s what matters most.”
