Leeds Marriott Hotel has announced the appointment of experienced hotelier Stefan Micevski as its new General Manager, as one of the city’s most recognisable hospitality destinations continues to build on more than three decades of welcoming guests in the heart of Leeds.
Located in the centre of the city and forming part of Leeds’ hospitality landscape for over 30 years, Leeds Marriott Hotel has long been a landmark destination for business and leisure travellers alike. With its extensive meetings and events facilities, Executive Lounge and renowned Gino D’Acampo restaurant all based within their walls, the hotel remains one of the city’s leading hospitality venues.
Stefan joins the hotel with more than 15 years of experience across the hospitality sector, bringing a wealth of operational, commercial and leadership expertise to the role.
His career journey began in Amsterdam after an early ambition to become a professional footballer. Having played semi-professionally in Italy and the Netherlands, Stefan transitioned into hospitality, starting as a receptionist before progressing through a range of operational and leadership roles across Europe and the UK.
Following positions with Holiday Inn Regent’s Park, Washington Mayfair Hotel and dual-site management roles across IHG and Accor properties, Stefan went on to become Director of Operations at The Principal York, now The Milner York. During his time there, he played a key role in delivering record financial performance and significant team growth.
Most recently, Stefan served as General Manager of Elmbank York, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, where he successfully led the hotel’s transition from an independent property to an internationally branded hotel while overseeing its repositioning within the market. He also chaired Hospitality Association York (HAY), championing the hospitality industry across the city and wider region.
Speaking about his appointment, Stefan said: “Leeds Marriott Hotel already has an outstanding reputation within the city and has been part of Leeds’ hospitality scene for decades. It is a fantastic property with a strong team, excellent facilities and a loyal guest base.
“I’m excited to join an award-winning team and help shape the next phase of growth for the hotel. Our focus will be on continuing to deliver exceptional guest experiences while maximising commercial opportunities and further strengthening our position within the Leeds market.”
Stefan believes Leeds is one of the UK’s most exciting cities for hospitality, thanks to its thriving business community, cultural offering and excellent transport connections.
